mainz und frankfurt
August 26, 2008After uploading these images I realized that this post does not really have a theme at all. The only thing these photos have in common is that they were all shot in the places we’ve explored this past week. Jason and I have really been enjoying this blog where we can share our images with you all, and it keeps us striving for new and interesting shots to show you! These first two are from the Mainzer Dom in Mainz. That’s Antje, Tyler and Jason walking in front of me to get inside.
These last four shots were taken during our day trip to Frankfurt. The first two below are in Paulskirche where the German National Assembly drafted the constitution. The final two shots are of the Alte Oper and I threw in a picture Antje took of Jason and I!

August 18, 2008Here are some images we’ve gathered during our first week in Germany. There are lots of beautiful old buildings here full of history. On Saturday Jason, Antje and I walked around downtown Wiesbaden. The second, third and fourth shots are of the beautiful Marktkirche. Antje tells us that this is one of the more modestly ornate churches in Germany. I thought this one was absolutely stunning, so I cannot wait to see some more. My favorite thing about the church is the way the ceiling is painted; it looks like a starry night. The last three shots are from our excursion to Rüdesheim a few days ago. We walked up the hill through the vineyards to Niederwalddenkmal (look it up!). There are many more places for us to explore. We’ll be down in Kandern next week.

August 8, 2008Samantha is my very first niece! She is two now and will let you know exactly what she does and does not want. Sam and her parents live so far away, in Addison, Texas so we don’t get to see them as much as we’d like. However, we were able to spend all of last week with them at Cannon Beach and had a great time. I’ve been wanting the chance to get some shots of Samantha and couldn’t pass this opportunity up. This little one calls us Aunt D and Uncle Jay and it melts our hearts every time.

August 8, 2008Last week Jason and I traveled to Cannon Beach, Oregon for a Christian conference and to spend time with family. We had such a great time and were able to see firsthand just how beautiful Oregon is. There was lots of rain/mist, but the clouds gave way a bit for some nice sunny days as well. The first picture (plus two other pictures below) is of the famous Haystack Rock. When the tide was low enough we were able to walk over to the giant rock and take a close look at the starfish. We look forward to visiting Oregon again and who knows, maybe our next stay will be a bit more permanent…

August 5, 2008Little Adisson here is so adorable! She is very strong and active for a 9 month old–no baby fat here! She did not like to stay still for too long, and preferred chasing down the leaves in the grass than paying attention to me. She is such a beautiful little one and made my job quite enjoyable. We even got mom and dad in on some of the action for a lovely family shot.
